The latest version of Ba Wang Bian seamlessly integrated with the ancient outdoor venue, evoking a profound sense of history. Dancer Maya Jilan Dong wielded the Ba Wang whip with passion, delivering a powerful and emotional performance that captured the deep spiritual essence of the Bai people from Dali. Her mother, Fumei Zhang, made a special appearance, adding an unexpected highlight to the evening. Ms. Zhang's voice, raw and unadorned, resonated with the purity and natural strength of the earth itself.
